I wanted to start a blog for those jaycees in ND who know me. I was feeling very progressive when i came up with the idea to start this while attending Camp Discovery. I was fortunate to be seated next to a young lady who is state president from New York, Shonda Ranson. She is about the most plugged in person I have ever met - and I have a baqckground in web servers and web development. There are so many social networking tools like myspace, flcikr, youtube, and blogs. I don't mind writing so a blog seemed a good fit to start.
Camp Discovery is in Tennessee, about one hour from nashville, its the location of the state president's training. Speakers were Denice O'Neill (2008 president), John Weber (state presidents coach), and several employees from the national service center. The training was excellent but I really enjoyed meeting the other state presidents. Imagine fourty of the most dedicated, professional, excited jaycees secluded at a summer camp. What fun! I stayed up late many nights talking to the other presidents cultivating ideas to bring home.
I have pictures from camp discovery i will have to post this week. I promise to keep blogging if you keep reading!
